BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU senior infielder Conner Hale and junior outfielder Andrew Stevenson have been named to the Perfect Game Summer League All-America teams. Hale was a first-team selection, and Stevenson was voted to the third team.

The Summer All-America teams recognize players who turned in outstanding performances during collegiate summer league competition. The Cape Cod League (11) and the Northwoods League (9) led the way with the most players represented on the list. Both Hale and Stevenson played in the Cape Cod League.

Hale, a product of New Port Richey, Fla., helped lead the Falmouth Commodores to the Cape Cod League championship series, batting .327 (56-for-171) with 12 doubles, one triple, four homers and 38 RBI.

Stevenson, a native of Youngsville, La., helped lead the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox to the Cape Cod League title, batting .327 (55-for-168) with nine doubles, one triple, one homer, 16 RBI, 30 runs, and 21 stolen bases.

Hale and Stevenson each played instrumental roles in leading LSU in 2014 to a 46-16-1 record, the SEC Tournament title and the No. 8 National Seed in the NCAA Tournament. Hale was LSU’s third-leading hitter, batting .306 (64-for-209) with 11 doubles, one triple, four homers and 29 RBI. He was voted to the SEC All-Tournament team after hitting .375 (6-for-16) with two doubles, one homer, one RBI and three runs scored.

Stevenson was LSU’s leading hitter during the 2014 season, batting .335 (68-for-203) with seven doubles, five triples, 32 RBI, 41 runs and nine stolen bases. He was also named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll as a kinesiology major.

Hale, Stevenson and their LSU teammates began fall semester classes on Monday, and they will begin engaging in individual workouts and conditioning drills. The Tigers begin their full-squad, six-week fall practice session on Monday, October 6.

The Tigers open the 2015 season on February 13 when they play host to Kansas in Alex Box Stadium, Skip Bertman Field.
