BATON ROUGE - The LSU baseball team is ranked No. 3 in the Collegiate Baseball and USA Today/ESPN polls, and No. 7 in the Baseball America poll released Monday.

LSU (13-2) has appeared in the Top 10 of at least one college baseball poll for 28 consecutive weeks, a streak that began on May 19, 2008.

The Tigers return to action at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday when LSU plays host to Nicholls State in Alex Box Stadium. The Tigers will wear green caps and white jerseys trimmed in green on Wednesday in recognition of St. Patrick's Day.

LSU opens Southeastern Conference play this weekend when the Tigers face No. 13 Arkansas (12-3) in Alex Box Stadium. Game times are 7 p.m. Friday, 3 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

All three LSU-Arkansas games will be televised by Cox Sports Television.

LSU is seeking to win back-to-back conference titles for the first time since 1996-97, which is also the last time any SEC school won consecutive league championships.
