BATON ROUGE, La. – LSU sophomore infielder Kramer Robertson was named Tuesday as the starting second baseman for the Western Division team at the 2014 Cape Cod League All-Star Game. The game is set for Sunday at 6 p.m. ET in Bourne, Mass.

Robertson becomes the fifth LSU player to be selected for Sunday’s contest, joining senior infielder Conner Hale, junior outfielder Mark Laird, junior catcher Chris Chinea and junior outfielder Andrew Stevenson. Robertson, Hale, Laird and Chinea will be starters for the Western Division, and Stevenson is a reserve for the Eastern Division squad.

Robertson, playing for the Wareham Gatemen in the wooden-bat league, is batting .298 (25-for-84) this summer with one double, one homer, four RBI and 15 runs scored. He leads the squad in on-base percentage (.385), and he is third on the team in hits and runs scored.

Fifteen LSU players have been selected for the Cape Cod League All-Star Game since 2008, the most in the nation over that seven-season span.
