BATON ROUGE -- Three LSU players have been named to the 2013 Baseball America preseason all-America teams.
Jones, a product of Richton, Miss., is LSU's starter at second base for the third straight year. He hit .253 last season with 13 doubles, one triple, four homers and 29 RBI, and he led the Tigers with 11 steals. Jones was named SEC Player of the Week last May after pacing LSU to a series win at Ole Miss.
Eades, a right-hander from Slidell, La., enters his third straight season as a member of the Tigers' starting rotation. He is 9-4 in two seasons with a 4.14 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 137 innings. Eades was the Cape Cod Pitcher of the Year in the summer of 2011, and he was named SEC Pitcher of the Week in April 2012 after limiting Alabama to only two hits in a 7.1-inning outing. Eades was also voted by the league coaches to the 2012 SEC All-Defensive Team.
