BATON ROUGE – Five members of the LSU Track & Field program have been honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for their outstanding athletic and academic performance during the 2014 collegiate season while earning USTFCCCA All-Academic honors from the organization over the past week.
Among the five Lady Tigers who have earned USTFCCCA All-Academic accolades for their efforts in the classroom and in competition for the 2014 season include senior Jasmin Stowers, sophomores Andria Aguilar and Therese Jernbeck, and freshmen Bryiana Richardson and Morgan Schuetz.
This marks the second year in a row that Stowers and Jernbeck have been honored as USTFCCCA All-Academic performers, while Aguilar, Richardson and Schuetz have been recognized for the first time in their college careers as leaders of the Lady Tigers both on and off the track during the spring and summer season.
In order to qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic status for 2014, a student-athlete must have maintained a 3.25 cumulative grade-point average during their respective collegiate careers.
They must also have met either of the athletic criteria set by the USTFCCCA. A student-athlete must have finished the regular season indoors ranked in the national Top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the Top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA performance list provided by TFRRS.org, or participated in any round of an event at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
