BATON ROUGE - For the first time in 2013 and the eighth time in her illustrious collegiate career, Kimberlyn Duncan has been honored as the SEC Women's Runner of the Week as the Lady Tiger senior sprinted to a world-leading time in taking the 200-meter title in Saturday's Texas A&M Triangular meet.

While making her season debut in the 200 meters on Saturday afternoon, Duncan crossed the finish line in 23.15 seconds to take the title at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium in College Station, Texas.

Not only did she claim the No. 1 spot in the SEC, NCAA and world rankings for the 2013 indoor season, but she also extended her historic winning streak to 19-straight 200-meter victories against collegiate competition that dates back to her sophomore season indoors in 2011.

A native of Katy, Texas, Duncan is the two-time defending NCAA Indoor champion in the event, and has already established herself as the favorite to defend her crown with a third title again this season.

With her performance, Duncan helped lead the Lady Tigers to the women's team title in the hyped scored competition as they scored 107.5 points in 15 events contested at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium. They edged out Texas A&M (103.5) and Arkansas (103) for the team victory. The Lady Tigers are sure to keep their No. 1 ranking in the next dual-meet rankings released by Track & Field News.

Duncan will return to the track with her LSU teammates this weekend as the Tigers and Lady Tigers head to Fayetteville, Ark., for the first time this indoor season for the Razorback Invitational running on Friday and Saturday at the Randal Tyson Track Center at the University of Arkansas.
