BATON ROUGE - As part of the festivities at the 2012 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Convention being held in Orlando, Fla., next week, this year's recipients of The Bowerman will be announced Wednesday to honor the top male and female athletes at the collegiate level for their performance this past season.

And for the second year in a row, LSU's Kimberlyn Duncan is among the three finalists on the women's side as she has been invited to the ceremony with Arizona's Brigetta Barrett and Oregon's Brianne Theisen. Duncan was also named a finalist for the prestigious award following the 2011 season.

The 2012 men's finalists for The Bowerman include Southern Utah distance runner Cam Levins, Florida sprinter Tony McQuay and Illinois sprinter and hurdler Andrew Riley.

Now in its fourth year, The Bowerman is collegiate track and field's equivalent to the Heisman Trophy and is presented annually by the USTFCCCA to the nation's premier male and female athlete at the collegiate level each season. This year's finalists were announced by the USTFCCCA on June 29.

Flotrack will provide a live webcast for The Bowerman Ceremony beginning at 5:30 p.m. CT with the "Flotrack Red Carpet Show at The Bowerman" hosted by Ryan Fenton and Alex Lohr. The show will be featuring the arrival of the award's VIPs leading up to the start of the show.

ESPN SportsCenter anchor and host of ABC's Wipeout John Anderson will serve as the Master of Ceremonies for The Bowerman Ceremony and USTFCCCA Hall of Fame Ceremony to be held at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes in Orlando next Wednesday. Anderson is a 1987 graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism and a four-year member of Missouri's track and field team. It marks his second time hosting the event as Anderson also served as Master of Ceremonies in 2010.
