BATON ROUGE – For the first time in school history, the No. 1 ranked LSU gymnastics team earned a 198 team score as the Tigers knocked off Missouri, 198.050-194.825, in front of a lively crowd of 7,018 fans Friday night in the Maravich Center.

LSU (8-3, 4-2 Southeastern Conference) used a 49.575 on vault, 49.500 on bars, 49.275 on beam and school-record 49.700 on floor to reach the 198.050, the best score in team history.

Missouri (6-5, 0-4) finished the meet with a 194.825 after scoring a 48.500 on vault, 48.950 on bars, 48.800 on beam and 48.575 on floor.

Junior Jessie Jordan won the all-around title with a career-high 39.600 total, and she also tied for the vault title with a 9.925.

Senior Kaleigh Dickson recorded a career-high all-around of 39.475, and she tied for the vault title with a 9.925.

Senior Sarie Morrison also shared the vault title with a 9.925, and she added the bars title with a 9.925 that marks her 27th career victory in that event.

Junior Lloimincia Hall captured the floor title with a 9.975, and she shared the beam crown with freshman Ashleigh Gnat as they both earned 9.875s.

Junior Rheagan Courville tied for the bars title with Morrison after scoring a 9.925.

The win also marked the 250th all-time victory inside the Maravich Center as LSU improved its home record to 250-55-3.

“I feel really good about where we are and the pace we are keeping as we head toward the SEC Championship,” LSU head coach D-D Breaux said. “I am proud of the effort and the mindset of our team tonight, and I’m pleased to know we still have room for improvement.

“The crowd was in it the entire meet, and they pushed us to keep the momentum going all night.”

LSU opened the meet with a 49.575 on vault, led by 9.925s from Dickson, Jordan and Morrison. Courville and Hall added 9.90s to round out the scoring. The 49.575 ties for the fifth-highest vault total in school history.

In the second rotation the Tigers rolled to a 49.500 on bars that ranks as the sixth-best total in team history, highlighted by 9.925s from Courville and Morrison. Jordan posted a 9.90, while Britney Ranzy and Randii Wyrick provided 9.875s.

LSU earned a 49.275 on beam in the third rotation. Hall’s 9.875 from the leadoff spot and Gnat’s 9.875 in the No. 4 spot led the way in the event. Dickson and Jordan scored 9.85s, and Sydney Ewing tallied a 9.825 to round out the scoring.

Needing a 49.650 or higher on floor to reach the 198 mark, LSU recorded a school-record floor total with a 49.700. The previous record was a 49.675 against Ohio State on March 5, 2004.

All six LSU floor performers scored a 9.90 or higher, led by Hall’s 9.975 in the anchor spot. Courville posted a 9.95 and Dickson, Gnat and Jordan added 9.925s. Jessica Savona scored a 9.90 that was dropped.

The 198.050 team total broke the school-record score that LSU set two weeks ago with a 197.875 at the Metroplex Challenge on Feb. 15.

With her two titles against Missouri, Morrison increased her career total to 41 individual titles, surpassing Jennifer Lyerly for ninth place in LSU career total titles.

The bars title marked Courville’s 60th career crown, and Hall’s floor title is the 20th of her career.

The top-ranked Tigers remain at home in the Maravich Center next week as LSU plays host to North Carolina State in the pink meet that will begin at 7 p.m. CT on March 7.
