BATON ROUGE - The LSU gymnastics program released a new logo Thursday that will give the team a new look and identity.
The mark was created in an effort to magnify the unique qualities of the sport that blends graceful movement with powerful acrobatics.
The logo uses LSU Gymnastics in the Geaux font with a female gymnast performing a leap above the letters.
The program will utilize the new mark beginning with the 2013 season, and fans will see the logo displayed prominently on Facebook (www.Facebook.com/lsugym) and Twitter @LSUgym (http://Twitter.com/lsugym).
"I'm very excited about it," LSU head coach D-D Breaux said. "It is clean, and it shows motion. It will be the face of LSU Gymnastics, and we are looking forward to using it in every aspect of our program."
Angie Elshoff from Forty Nine Degrees and LSU Athletics Publications Director Jason Feirman collaborated on the design.
