ATHENS, Ga. - LSU freshman gymnast Jessie Jordan earned her first all-around title as a Tiger although it was not enough to propel 17th-ranked LSU to a victory at No. 7 Georgia as the Tigers fell 197.250-195.750 Saturday in front of 10,224 fans in Stegeman Coliseum.

Jordan, a native of Houston, Texas, scored a 39.250 to claim the all-around title, finishing a quarter-tenth ahead of teammate Lloimincia Hall and Georgia's Noel Couch who both scored a 39.225. Jordan posted season highs on vault (9.875) and bars (9.750) and narrowly missed her season best on floor with a 9.825. She also added a 9.80 on beam.

"This team fought hard all meet long," head coach D-D Breaux said. "We made adjustments throughout the meet, and even though we didn't come away with the win we gave great effort."

Breaux praised Jordan for winning the all-around with a solid performance against Georgia.

"Jessie Jordan comes in to practice every day and does her complete assignments, and that was reflected in her performance today. I'm proud of her for winning the all-around, and I'm proud of this team for continuing to fight."

LSU opened the meet on bars, and four Tigers tied or set season highs in the event. Rheagan Courville scored a 9.875, Jordan posted a 9.75 and Lainie Fleming earned a 9.725 to achieve season highs. Hall tied her best with a 9.85.

Courville won her third vault title of the season by tying her season high with a 9.95. Jordan posted a season-best 9.875, and Hall tied her best score with a 9.85. Kaleigh Dickson added a 9.825, and Ashley Lee tallied a 9.80.

Hall won her second floor title of the season with a 9.90, while Jordan added a 9.825, Dickson scored a 9.80 and Lau earned a season-best 9.775 to guide the Tigers to their top floor score of the season with a 48.975.

Ericka Garcia led off beam and tied her career-high with a 9.85, and Dickson, Hall and Jordan posted 9.80's to help LSU finish with a 48.975.

Georgia (3-1, 2-1) finished with a season-high 197.250 team score as the GymDogs posted a 49.250 or higher on every event.

LSU heads back to the friendly confines of the Pete Maravich Assembly Center to take on Kentucky at 7 p.m. Friday.

"Let's get some people at the meet, so bring your friends," Breaux said. "Let's put some people in the stands and compete in front of a home crowd like we see on the road. It's going to make us a better team."
