BATON ROUGE – The LSU Marketing & Promotions Department has announced the promotional schedule for 11 home matches for the LSU Soccer team during the 2014 season as the Tigers will play host to the Troy Trojans in their season opener on Friday night at 7 p.m. CT. Admission is free to each of LSU’s home matches this season.

Fans will have the opportunity to “Geaux Free!” once again this fall as admission is free to each of LSU’s 11 home matches during the 2014 regular season.

The Tigers will feature a strong home schedule this season, highlighted by matches against each of the SEC Co-Champions from a year ago when the Texas A&M Aggies make the trip to Baton Rouge on Friday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. CT and the Florida Gators follow with an appearance at the LSU Soccer Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m. Florida is ranked at No. 8 and Texas A&M is ranked No. 9 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/Continental Tire Top 25 preseason ranking released back on Aug. 6.

LSU’s home slate also features two other matches against NCAA Tournament teams from last season as the Tigers play host to Stephen F. Austin on Monday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m. and Kentucky on Friday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m.

Among the most popular promotions making a return for the 2014 season are three “Friday Nights Under the Lights” small-sided games and juggling competitions, which are open to children from kindergarten through the eighth grade, or up to 13 years of age, and will be held from 6-6:30 p.m. at the team’s practice field adjacent to the LSU Soccer Stadium.

The Tigers will also play host to their annual “Student Point Match” when they face Alabama on Thursday, Oct. 9, as LSU students will have an opportunity to earn valuable priority points to be used when they apply for football tickets for away games and bowl games in the future.
