BATON ROUGE – The LSU women’s basketball program will play host to its fourth annual Lady Tiger Elite Golf Classic on Thursday, Sept. 4, with a 9 a.m. shotgun start at Santa Maria Golf Course located off of Santa Maria Parkway in Baton Rouge.
Foursomes and single spots are available for the event which benefits the Lady Tigers. The cost is $125 per golfer or $500 per foursome. The cost per golfer includes greens fee, cart, continental breakfast, an awards luncheon and memento gifts. Prizes also will be awarded for the top finishing teams, closest to the pin and longest drive. Registration for the event begins at 7:30 a.m. on September 4.
Food and drink sponsors include Sammy’s Grill and Mockler Beverage Company. Cox Communications will serve as the cart sponsor. Golfers also will have the opportunity to win a car from Gerry Lane Chevrolet during the hole-in-one challenge.
Santa Maria has consistently received Golf Digest’s highest ranking for a municipal course. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., the 18-hole, 6,969-yard championship course is built on 150 acres of rolling terrain. It features 15 lakes, two natural waterways, sand and grass bunkers, exquisite Bermuda fairways and ancient oaks to provide the perfect setting for a memorable test of golf.
