Nominee for SEC Player of the Week

Theresa Plaisance, F, 6-5, Sr., New Orleans, Louisiana
Plaisance poured in 21.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game as the senior forward moved up two spots into 22nd place on LSU’s all-time scoring list. She knocked down 50 percent of her shots and extended her streak to 17 consecutive games in double figures. Plaisance exploded for a career-high 29 points at Georgia and nearly brought the Lady Tigers back from an 18-point first half deficit. The New Orleans native tallied 21 of LSU’s first 26 points and converted on 9-of-11 shooting during the second half. Plaisance tacked on her sixth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 rebounds versus Arkansas.

Notes on the Tigers
No. 19 LSU dropped a pair of four-point decisions to Georgia and Arkansas last week. The Lady Tigers fell to 18-9 overall and 7-7 in SEC action. Heading into the final week of the regular season, LSU is tied for fifth place with Florida and Vanderbilt in the SEC standings. The last time the Lady Tigers lost four consecutive games was during the 1994-95 season. Theresa Plaisance racked up 21.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game last week. She continued her climb up LSU’s all-time scoring list and advanced two spots to 22nd place. Plaisance exploded for a career-high 29 points on career-best 12 field goals made at Georgia. The New Orleans native has registered double figures in 17 consecutive games. Jeanne Kenney tacked on 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game during last week’s action. The senior guard is four assists away from the century mark and putting together back-to-back seasons with 100 assists. In SEC play, Kenney has drained 31 of her 50 baskets from three-point territory. Raigyne Moncrief had her streak of 26 straight starts to begin her career come to a close against Arkansas. She heads into the final week of the regular season averaging 11.2 points per game, fourth among SEC freshmen. DaShawn Harden tallied eight points versus Arkansas starting in place of Moncrief. It was her first start since the Louisville game on Nov. 14. Off the bench, Shanece McKinney came away with nine points during the Arkansas game. Danielle Ballard picked up 8.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. She had her run of a season’s long three consecutive games with 10-plus points come to a close against Arkansas. This week, LSU plays host to No. 10 Tennessee [Thursday – 8 p.m. on CSS/CST] before wrapping up the regular season at Alabama [Sunday – 1:30 p.m. on SEC TV].
