BATON ROUGE - The 2013 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament field of 64 will be unveiled at 6 p.m. CT Monday live on ESPN, and the LSU Lady Tigers are expected to earn an at-large berth to the event it will host for the second straight year under head coach Nikki Caldwell.

The team and staff will watch the event in the Maravich Center and fans are invited to attend the free event. Lower arena doors open at 5 p.m. and there will be free food and games leading up to the show.

"We want to give our fans the chance to come out and watch the show with us," said Caldwell. "We appreciate all of the support they have given us. We also want to reiterate to our team that a big opportunity lies ahead of us."

Tickets for the NCAA Tournament first and second rounds are on sale now at www.LSUtix.net, by calling (800) 960-8587 or (225) 578-2184 or in person on the first floor of the LSU Athletic Administration Building.  The first session will be played on Sunday, March 24 with tip times of 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The second round session tips at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26.

LSU is seeking its 22nd all-time NCAA Tournament berth. The Lady Tigers compiled a seven-game winning streak with victories over top-15 teams Georgia, Kentucky and Texas A&M to solidify its postseason status. LSU also owns 11 wins over Southeastern Conference teams, 20 overall victories and an NCAA official RPI in the top 35.

"We have players who know how to play in postseason and hopefully, the underclassmen can follow their lead," said Caldwell. "Everybody understands this time of year. It's either survive and advance or if you don't, you go home. There are a lot of teams out there whose seasons will be finished. We are going to appreciate the fact that we can get out there and still compete."

Despite losing to Georgia in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals, LSU has been able to recuperate after an injury while also fine tuning its defensive and offensive fundamentals over the last week.

Junior forward Shanece McKinney is expected to be ready to play for the tournament after suffering a head injury against Georgia. She returned to practice late last week.

LSU built confidence over the last month of the season and will take four double-figure scorers into postseason play led by junior forward Theresa Plaisance. Plaisance, a first-team All-SEC selection, owns a team-best 17.4 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.

The Lady Tigers will scrimmage on Monday before gathering to watch the selection show, which will also air on ESPN3.com and the Watch ESPN App via tablets. The full bracket and exact tip times will be announced on LSUsports.net later Monday evening.
