BATON ROUGE -- Spots and sponsorships are available for the third annual Lady Tiger Elite Golf Classic benefiting the LSU women's basketball program to be held on Monday, April 15 with a 9 a.m. shotgun start at Carter Plantation in Springfield, La.
The cost is $150 per golfer or $600 per foursome. Applications for the tournament and sponsorships are available online here at LSUsports.net. All proceeds go to the LSU women's basketball program. Registration on that Monday begins at 7:30 a.m.
The cost per golfer includes greens fee, cart, continental breakfast and lunch, a Nike golf polo and memento gifts. There will also be prizes for the top finishing teams, closest to the pin and longest drive. Golfers will also have a chance to win a car with a hole-in-one on one of the par-3s at Carter Plantation courtesy of Gerry Lane Chevrolet. There will also be a silent auction.
Cox Communications and Mockler Beverage Company are serving as All-American sponsors for the event. Peoples Health is serving as the cart sponsor. Long Law Firm and Garrity Printing are serving as All-SEC sponsors. Other contributing sponsors are Woman's Hospital, Bayou Apparel and Gerry Lane Chevrolet.
Carter Plantation, one of Louisiana's top courses as rated by Golf Digest, was designed by former LSU golfer David Toms. The 18-hole, 7,000-yard championship layout is a member of Louisiana's Audubon Golf Trail.
Carter Plantation is offering room blocks for anyone traveling out of town for the evening of Sunday, April 14 or Monday, April 15. The special $99 room rate can be reserved by calling (225) 414-0680. The room block is listed under the name "Lady Tiger Elite Golf Classic."
