BATON ROUGE - After defeating three straight top-15 ranked teams during a Southeastern Conference-best current six-game winning streak, the LSU women's basketball team is back in the Associated Press Top 25 poll for the first time since 2011 as the Lady Tigers are ranked No. 22 this week.

The Lady Tigers (19-10, 10-6 SEC) are one of six SEC teams in this week's poll. Kentucky leads the way at No. 7 followed by Tennessee at No. 9, Georgia at No. 12, South Carolina at No. 17 and Texas A&M at No. 19. LSU has defeated three of those teams - Georgia, Kentucky and Texas A&M - during the current six-game winning streak.

LSU returns to the AP poll for the first time since the third week of the 2011-12 season when the Lady Tigers were tabbed No. 20 on Nov. 21, 2011. This is the first time LSU has appeared in a March edition of the poll since finishing the 2009-10 season ranked No. 21.

The Lady Tigers have earned the No. 6 seed in this week's SEC Tournament and will face No. 11 seed Auburn at 7:30 p.m. CT Thursday in the Gwinnett Arena in Duluth, Ga. The game will be televised by Fox Sports Southwest, ESPN3.com and the Watch ESPN app via tablets.

LSU has put itself in solid position to earn an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament regardless of what happens in this week's SEC Tournament. The Maravich Center is hosting the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament on March 24 and 26. All-session ticket books for the NCAA Tournament are available now at www.LSUtix.net, in person at the LSU Athletic Ticket Office or by calling (225) 578-2184.
