BATON ROUGE - An annual Maravich Center tradition continues on Sunday, Feb. 10 as the LSU women's basketball team recognizes breast cancer awareness in the "Pink Game" when the Lady Tigers take on 13th-ranked Georgia at 12:30 p.m. CT live on ESPNU.
All fans are encouraged to wear pink and join in the cause. The first 1,500 fans will receive free Lady Tiger basketball pink t-shirts. Pink rally towels will also be distributed.
Tickets for the "Pink Game" are on sale at www.LSUtix.net, in person on the first floor of the LSU Athletic Administration Building or by calling (225) 578-2184. On gameday, tickets go on sale at the Maravich Center box office at 11:30 a.m.
LSU will once again pay tribute to breast cancer survivors with a "Parade of Survivors" at halftime. Survivors interested in participating are asked to contact the LSU Marketing and Promotions Office at (225) 578-6659 or e-mailing Lauren Taylor, assistant marketing director, directly at firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline to sign up for the parade is Friday, Feb. 8.
The Lady Tigers will pay tribute to breast cancer awareness by wearing specially designed Nike pink uniforms and pink sneakers. LSU players will participate in a postgame autograph session adjacent to Portal J on the upper concourse of the Maravich Center. LSU owns a 5-0 all-time record in "Pink Games" at the Maravich Center. The contest has been played annually since the 2007-08 season.
