Vote for LSU Basketball's All-Decade Teams: '80s and '90s

As part of LSU's 100 Years of Basketball Celebration, fans are invited to vote for the All-Decade teams during the 2008 SEC basketball schedule, beginning with voting for the 1940s and '50s All-Decade teams then teams of the '60s and '70s and now for the '80s and '90s until Feb. 23, 2008.

The nominees (listed below) for the '80s and '90s will appear for the first time in the GameDay program on Feb. 9. Each home game different decades of player nominees will be spotlighted and voting will continue until the end of February. The All-Decade teams will be announced at the final home game of 2008, against Alabama on March 5.

The Centennial Committee, composed of former players and coaches from the various decades, media members and historians, will select an early years team representing the first 30 years of the program from 1909-1939.

Those players chosen on the All-Decade teams along with the early team selected by the committee will be eligible for the All-Century team which fans will have the chance to vote on during the summer of 2008. The All-Century team will be picked on a weighted vote of both the fans and the Centennial Committee.

Darryl Joe G -- 1987-88 Averaged 8.6 points in 1987 ... Averaged 11.9 in 1988, 10.6 for his two-year career ... Seventh all-time in steals despite playing just two years with 173 ... All-time leader in steals in a season with 93 (1987).

Johnny Jones G 1981-84 Member of the 1981 NCAA Final Four team ... 10th all-time in assists at LSU with 271 ... Only LSU player to play and coach in an NCAA Final Four (1981, 1986)

Durand “Rudy” Macklin F -- 1976-78; 1979-81 Member of 1981 NCAA Final Four ... Second behind only Pete Maravich at LSU in scorer with 2,080 points (123 games, 16.9 ppg) ... All-time LSU rebounder with 1,276 rebounds (10.4 average) ... First Team All-America by Converse, 2nd team by Sporting News in 1980 ... Willie Sims G 1978-81 Member of the 1981 NCAA Final Four ... During 1981 season, always introduced with the starting five as the best sixth man in college basketball ... Averaged 8.5 points and nearly two assists in 1981.

Jamie Brandon G -- 1992-94 Last two years were his best as he was named to the Coaches 2nd team All-SEC in 1993 and the Coaches All-SEC 2nd team and UPI 3rd team All-SEC in 1994 ... Averaged 10.5 points with 3.6 assists in 1992 ... 1993 averaged 11.8 points a game (school best percentage for a single season -- 27-of-53 from the three, 50.9 percent) .... Leading scorer on 1994 team, averaging 16.5 points a game ... Second best three-point career percentage of 43.8 ... 1,055 points, 35th all-time at LSU.

Maurice Carter G 1996-99 Coaches and AP 3rd team All-SEC ... Improved in scoring every year as average 6.6 as a freshman, 9.8 as a sophomore, 14.4 points as a junior and 17.3 points as a senior ... 23rd all-time in scoring with 1,299 points ... Led team in scoring last two years ... Had 115 three-pointers in his last two seasons combined and his 157 for his career is eighth best at LSU.

Clarence Ceasar F 1992-95 Member of both the 1,000 point club at LSU and 500 rebound club ... 20th in career scoring with 1,343 points (112 games 12.0 average) ... Averaged 11.5 in 1992, 14.6 in 1994, 12.6 in 1995 ... Made 175 career three-pointers, fourth best all-time at LSU ... Lead team in steals all four years ... Career leader in steals with 310 ... Also school record holder in average at 2.8 a game for his career.

Shawn Griggs G 1990-91 UPI 2nd Team All-SEC ... Single game record holder for steals in a game with 10 vs. Tennessee (Feb. 1991) ... Averaged 8.8 points, 2.7 steals, 2.8 assists per game ... Shot 51.9 percent from the field (97-of-187).

Geert Hammink C 1989, 1991-93 -- Consensus First-Team Selection, 1993 ... SEC All-Tournament, 1993 ... Leading scorer and rebounder in 1993 ... 30th all-time in rebounds with 536 for 113 games ... After playing behind Shaquille O’Neal for most of career, averaged team best 15.3 points and 10.2 rebounds.

Mike Hansen G 1991 -93 Scored what was then an opponents record in the PMAC for Tennessee-Martin when Hansen played against LSU in 1988 ... Transferred to LSU and played three years ... Made 113 threes, 10th best for a career at LSU ... Best season was 1990-91 when he averaged 12.7 points ... For his three years made 39 percent of his three point attempts, including senior season when he was 38-of-84.

Ronnie Henderson G 1994-96 Coaches 1st Team All-SEC, AP Second Team 1995 ... Consensus All-SEC 1996 ... Last player to score 40 in a game by an SEC player versus Alabama, Feb. 11, 1995 ... Led the SEC in scoring in both 1995 (23.3 ppg) and 1996 (21.8 ppg) ... 12th all-time in scoring with 1,561 points (77 games, 20.3 ppg) ... 189 three-pointers made, third most at LSU.

Chris Jackson G 1989-90 Consensus Player of the Year in the SEC, 1989, 1990 ... First-Team All-American 1989, 1990 ... Scored 48 and 53 points in the first month of his college career ... Set NCAA freshman scoring record, averaging 30.2 points per game ... Just the second freshman at the time to make AP first-team All-American ... In just two seasons, is the seventh all-time in scoring with 1,854 points (64 games, 29.0 ppg) ... Made 172 treys in just two seasons.

Randy Livingston G 1995-96 Played just portions of two seasons, but was one of the greatest assist makers in LSU history ... Averaged over 9 assists a game in 1995, averaging 14 points a game ... Averaged 5.3 assists in 1996 ... 151 assists in 1995 was the eighth most in a single season in LSU history.

Shaquille O’Neal C 1990-92 -- One of three LSU basketball players to have their college numbers retired ... Consensus First-Team All-American in 1991 and 1992 .... 1991 and 1992 SEC Player of the Year ... MVP of SEC Coaches Defensive Team, 1991, 1992 ... Stanley Roberts F 1990 Played one year at LSU, earning AP 3rd team All-SEC ... Second on the team in scoring at 14.1 points per game and 9.8 rebounds with 60 blocked shots.

Roman Rubchenko F 1993-96 Best years were last two seasons, averaging 9.8 points in 1995 and 11.2 points per game in 1996 ... Averaged 7.4 points and 4.8 rebounds for his four year career ... Started every game for LSU his senior year.
