NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The LSU men's basketball team overcame a 16-point first-half deficit to win at Vanderbilt's Memorial Gymnasium for the first time since 2006, 57-51, on Thursday night.

LSU (18-11, 9-8 SEC) also broke a seven-game road losing streak dating to Jan. 11.

Forward Johnny O'Bryant III carried the Tigers offensively, scoring 25 points while pulling down 10 rebounds. Andre Stringer was the only other Tiger in double figures with 11 points, as the guard made all eigth of his free throws. Other than O'Bryant, who was 11-of-18 from the field, no Tiger made more than two field goals.

The Tigers made more free throws than field goals (19-18) and overcame a 2-for-15 night from three-point range to come away with the victory.

Vanderbilt (15-14, 7-10 SEC) was led by Rod Odom with 15 points. The Commodores shot only 18-of-58 from the field (31 percent) including 7-of-28 from three-point range. The home team was 8-of-12 from the free throw line.

LSU trailed 28-12 with less than three minutes to play in the first half before cutting the deficit to 32-24 with a 12-4 run to end the half. The Tigers kept the game close throughout the second half before finally tying the game on a pair of free throws by O'Bryant with 3:22 to play. The shots started a 10-2 LSU run to end the game.

On Saturday, the Tigers return to the Maravich Center to take on Georgia (17-12, 11-6 SEC), which stands along in third place in the SEC after winning 7-of-9 games since Feb. 6. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. CT.

Next week, the Tigers travel to Atlanta's Georgia Dome for the 2014 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament. LSU will open tournament play on Thursday, March 13, against an opponent to be determined.
