BATON ROUGE - The LSU Athletics Department has announced that the LSU men's basketball team will play an exhibition game at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center at 7 p.m. on the night of November 5.
Admission for the contest will be free of charge.
The contest will take place just four days prior to the start of the 2012-13 regular season and the first for new head coach Johnny Jones on Nov. 9 against UC-Santa Barbara. The Gauchos advanced to post-season play a year ago.
In the exhibition game, LSU will play Arkansas-Monticello in the first exhibition game played in the Maravich Center since prior to the 2007-08 season.
Arkansas-Monticello and LSU met in a counting game in the 2006-07 season in a tournament in Las Vegas with LSU winning, 75-48.
Also, this coming Tuesday, Coach Johnny Jones will host the first of his monthly luncheons at the L'Auberge Resort in Baton Rouge.
The luncheon will be held at the Bon Temps Buffet located on the main floor at L'Auberge in Baton Rouge. The all-you-can-eat buffet charge is $13.95 per person. The luncheon is open to the public and the program will begin at noon.
Thursday will also feature the "Pass A Good Time" night with the men's and women's basketball teams at the Maravich Center from 6-8 p.m.
The free event will feature fun activities for fans of all ages. The first 1,500 fans will receive a free LSU Stein mug and free food. Fans are asked to RSVP for the event through the LSU Marketing and Promotions office at (225) 578-6884 or email@example.com by Tuesday, Oct. 9.
