BATON ROUGE – LSU football sophomore punter Jamie Keehn spent time delivering gifts to children as part of the “Pay it Forward” event Tuesday afternoon at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital.
“I am extremely passionate about the kids at OLOL because my child is a former patient,” said Katie Suire, co-founder of “Pay it Forward”. “We spent over two months ‘living' in the four walls of a hospital room, and we know firsthand what these children are going through.”
“Pay it Forward” is about helping children forget their pain, forget their cancer, forget their illness and forget their suffering – if only for a few moments. “Pay it Forward” is about showing the children at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital that families care, and they're supported in the battle they're fighting.
“It was great to be able to brighten up the day of the children and their families,” Keehn said. “It is a great experience for not only them but for me as well.”
