BATON ROUGE -- Defensive end Sam Montgomery and freshman running back Jeremy Hill each earned Southeastern Conference Player of the Week honors following their performances against then-No. 3 South Carolina on Saturday.
Montgomery, the league's Defensive Lineman of the Week, had two of LSU's four sacks and forced a fumble in LSU's 23-21 victory.
Hill, who took co-Freshman of the Week honors, had 118 of his career-best 124 yards rushing in the second half of the Tigers' win. His 50-yard touchdown run with 5:03 remaining proved the game-winner.
