Dungy to Headline Football Coaches' Clinic

BATON ROUGE - Tony Dungy, who led the Indianapolis Colts to a Super Bowl victory in 2007, will be the headline speaker at this year's LSU Football Coaches Clinic, which takes place on March 22-24 on the LSU campus.
Dungy, who now serves as an analyst on NBC's Football Night in America, retired from coaching following the 2008 season. He posted a career head coaching mark of 139-69 which included six years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and seven with the Colts.
In 13 years as an NFL head coach, Dungy led his teams to 10 or more regular season victories 10 times, including a 14-2 mark in 2005 with the Colts.
"It's an honor for us to welcome Coach Dungy to LSU for our annual coaching clinic," LSU coach Les Miles said. "Coach Dungy is truly one of the greats in the game. His accomplishments and contributions to the game of football are remarkable. He's a true gentleman and someone that I have admired for a very long time."
Dungy, who is the author of two books featured on the New York Times Best Seller list, will address the group of coaches at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 23 at the LSU Football Operations Facility.
The LSU Coaches Clinic will feature an additional benefit this year as the high school coaches will get a chance to watch LSU's Pro Day, which will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 22. Featuring LSU's top NFL prospects for the April draft, more than 100 NFL personnel, including general managers and head coaches, will be on hand that day for the workout.
Registration for the clinic starts at 10:30 a.m. on March 22 on the west side entrance of the LSU Indoor Football Facility. Following Pro Day activities, the clinic participants will get to watch the Tigers practice at 3:30 p.m. followed by a barbeque social at 6. Miles will welcome the group at 7 followed by breakout sessions with the LSU position coaches at 7:15.
The clinic resumes on Friday, March 23 at 9:30 a.m. when LSU strength coach Tommy Moffitt presents to the group of coaches. Following two hours of breakout sessions, lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. followed by Dungy's presentation at 1:30 p.m. A third breakout session will take place at 2:45 p.m. followed by presentations from new LSU wide receiver coach Adam Henry at 3:45 p.m. and LSU defensive line coach Brick Haley at 4:45 p.m.
The clinic concludes on Saturday at 1 p.m. when the coaches will get to see the Tigers scrimmage in Tiger Stadium.
