BATON ROUGE -- LSU defensive end Sam Montgomery was named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week following his performance against Kentucky on Saturday.

Montgomery led the LSU defense with six total tackles, two for losses, including 1.5 sacks, in the Tigers' 35-7 win against Kentucky.
