Loston Rides in Redemptorist Mardi Gras Parade
BATON ROUGE - LSU safety Craig Loston took part in the Redemptorist Elementary Mardi Gras Parade for the second straight year.
"I always have a great time being around kids," Loston said. "Last year, participating in this parade was a lot of fun, so I wanted to make sure to come back again. I get excited about Mardi Gras and its festivities, and Redemptorist's parade is really the icing on the cake for me because I get to hang out with kids."
The junior safety attended the school's kickoff assembly where each grade announced a Mardi Gras King and Queen before riding on a kindergarten class float and throwing candy and beads alongside the students.
Following this year's "Disney" theme, Loston's float was covered with "Finding Nemo" decorations, and the parade route circled the school's surrounding neighborhood.
"This is something they do every year at the school, and I'm proud to say that I have been a part of their tradition for the last two years," Loston said. "I really enjoyed interacting with the kids, seeing their smiles, and meeting the parents that were here to support the school. Seeing these young students have fun is really what it's all about for me."
