LSU is hosting the NCAA Tournament First and Second Rounds for the third straight year. Games around the country will be played Saturday, March 22 through Tuesday, March 25. Actual game dates and times for Baton Rouge will be unveiled by the NCAA later this week.

Since the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament was expanded to its current 64-team format, LSU has played host to first-and-second round games eight times. Last year, the Lady Tigers reached the NCAA Sweet 16 on their home floor in one of the most memorable games in school history.

After beating 20th-ranked Green Bay, 75-71, in the first round, a raucous home crowd saw LSU knock off No. 8 Penn State, 71-66, to reach the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2008. Due to several injuries, the Lady Tigers had only seven available players who each contributed in the final home game of the year.

LSU also served as a host site for first-and-second round games in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2009 and 2010. The Lady Tigers are 16-3 all-time in NCAA Tournament games played in Baton Rouge. That record dates back to LSU’s first hosting opportunity in 1984. LSU owns a perfect 8-0 record all-time in NCAA Tournament First Round games in the Maravich Center.

Season tickets for the 2013-14 Lady Tiger season are available now at www.LSUtix.net. Follow the team on Twitter (www.Twitter.com/LSUwbkb), Facebook (www.Facebook.com/LSUwbkb) and Instagram (@LSUwbkb).
