FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The 21st-ranked LSU men's tennis team (14-9, 5-6 SEC) had no problem putting away the No. 52 Arkansas Razorbacks in their last match of the regular season Saturday, shutting them out 4-0 at the Billingsley Tennis Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

The Tigers came away with a quick 4-0 victory, ending their regular season on a three-match win streak.

LSU will face No. 9 seed Vanderbilt in the first round of the SEC Tournament on Thursday, April 19, at 2 p.m. CT in Starkville, Miss.

After the contest was moved indoors due to strong wind, LSU had no problem adjusting to the new setting.

The 54th-ranked LSU pairing of Chris Simpson and Neal Skupski picked up the first win of the day for the Tigers, upending the 49th-ranked Arkansas duo of Hall Fess and Matt Walters, 8-2.

On court three, the Tigers took control and captured a 1-0 advantage with an 8-4 win by LSU's Tom Knights and Stefan Szacinski over Arkansas' Gregoire Lehmann and Mike Ward.

Play was stopped on court two after the doubles point was declared in favor of the Tigers.

In singles, the Tigers stayed hot as LSU's top three players, No. 35 Olivier Borsos, No. 54 Skupski and No. 81 Simpson, took down their respective opponents in straight sets.

Skupski finished off Manfred Jeske 6-3, 6-1 on court two, followed by Simpson with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Ward. Borsos clinched the match for the Tigers on the top court defeating Arkansas' Lehmann, 6-4, 6-4.

James Turbervill, Knights and Szacinski left all of their matches unfinished, finalizing the score at 4-0.

"We really did a good job of maintaining our focus after Arkansas did a couple of lineup changes," head coach Jeff Brown said. "We did a good job taking care of our opponents and getting the four points."

The Tigers have now won their last six matches against the Razorbacks. LSU currently leads the all-time series 24-4.
