Men's Tennis Ranked 25th in Latest Poll

BATON ROUGE - The LSU (1-0) men's tennis team checked in at No. 25 in the ITA College Tennis Rankings on Tuesday following a 6-1 victory over Southern Miss (0-1) to start the 2013 season.

The Virginia Cavaliers, who haven't played their first match of the season, remain atop the rankings. As many as eight of LSU's opponents this season are ranked in the Top 25, including No. 4 Ohio State, No. 6 Georgia, No. 9 Kentucky, No. 11 Mississippi State, No. 12 Florida, No. 13 Ole Miss, No. 20 Michigan, and No. 21 Auburn.

After the team's 6-1 victory over Southern Miss this past Monday, the team travels to Starkville, Miss., to face the No. 11 Mississippi State Bulldogs in the first round of the ITA Kick Off Classic on January 26 at 1 p.m. CT.
