BATON ROUGE – The LSU gymnastics team (20-1, 7-0 SEC), the Southeastern Conference regular season and conference champions, earned the No. 2 overall seed and will be the top seed in the Lincoln Regional hosted by the University of Nebraska, the NCAA announced Monday.

The No. 2 ranking heading into postseason is the highest in school history. This marks the 33rd-straight regional appearance and the 35th overall for LSU. The program owns 16 regional titles and is trying to extend its streak to six straight.

“We wanted the SEC Championship so bad,” head coach D-D Breaux said. “Our focus now is on the regional. It’s a tough field, especially when the three seed is the host, so we will have to bring our ‘A’ game.”

The meet will begin at 4 p.m. CT inside Nebraska’s Bob Devaney Sports Center. Tickets can be purchased at and the meet will be streamed free of charge on Nebraska’s website.

As the top seed in the regional, LSU will start the meet on the bye before bars and rotate to bars, beam, bye, floor and end on vault.

The squad is joined by No. 11 Boise State, No. 14 Nebraska, Arizona, Iowa State and Minnesota. The two teams with the highest scores at the end of the regional will advance to the NCAA Championships in St. Louis, Missouri on April 14-15.
