NEW ORLEANS -- Cox Sports Television (CST) has recently entered into a five-year agreement with LSU Sports Properties to be the exclusive regional sports network home of LSU athletics.

CST has the exclusive rights to air more than 50 LSU events each year. Televised events will include repeat airings of all 12 regular season football games, live LSU men’s and women’s basketball, softball, baseball, track and field, gymnastics and the spring football game. Additionally, CST produces the popular "Tiger Tracks" a 30-minute monthly magazine show that showcases LSU athletics.

"For the past three years, CST has built a solid relationship with LSU and is proud to be renewing its commitment to LSU sports," said Rod Mickler, CST network head. "This relationship with LSU is one of the pinnacle assets that has allowed our growth to more than 1.5 million homes in three years, making us the premier sports network in the South."

This new contract comes as the initial, three-year contract, signed in 2002, comes to a close, extending the relationship until 2010.

"LSU and CST make a great team," said Skip Bertman, LSU Athletic Director. "We attribute growth of the channel in the past three years to this strong partnership. We also know that the increased exposure our athletic programs receive through this partnership across the South has been well received by our alumni and fans. The LSU-CST partnership will get even bigger in the coming years."

In addition to the television rights, CST will receive premium signage in LSU athletic facilities; radio, television, Internet and game program advertising; game sponsorship benefits; tickets and hospitality access for sporting events; and use of the Team LSU mark for advertising and promotions.

Where available, CST subscribers also will have access to Video on Demand, its newest technology, allowing LSU fans immediate access to a variety of sporting events and an opportunity to become "referee-for-a-day" using the pause and rewind features on the system remote. The majority of the LSU sporting events will be available indefinitely on Cox’s Video on Demand service for future fan enjoyment.

"From the beginning, Cox Sports Television has demonstrated its commitment to LSU and its fans," said Ward Wyatt, general manager of LSU Sports Properties. "We at LSU Sports Properties are excited about the continuation of this great partnership and the exciting opportunities it brings for regional sports coverage of the Tigers."
