BATON ROUGE – The Cox Communication Academic Center for Student-Athletes recently announced that Molly Ann Walke is joining their team as a learning specialist.

“We are excited to have Molly Ann join our staff at the CCACSA,” said Carli Faulkner, the CCACSA Manager of Student Learning. “As a strategy tutor with the Academic Center, we were able to witness her commitment to the success of our student-athletes and her passion is evident through her work. She will be a great addition to our Student Learning Program.”

Walke was a Cum Laude graduate from LSU in 2014. She received a bachelor’s degree in mass communication with a concentration in public relations and a minor in business administration from the prestigious Manship School. She later earned a master’s degree in social work with a specialization in children and youth from LSU in 2018.

While working toward her master’s degree, Walke was a social work intern at BR Children’s Health Project. While interning she implemented therapeutic interventions for elementary-age students and conducted classroom observations to assess and evaluate behavior.

Since September 2016 she has been a strategy, content and SASP tutor at the LSU CCACSA where she aided students in successfully managing course objectives, ensuring the continued growth and academic development of student athletes and assisting incoming freshman with adjustments.

Walke also worked as an academic advisor in the LSU Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College since July 2018. She provides individual academic advising concerning admission, course and graduation developments, assists with recruiting efforts, maintains a coordinated student services program for first and second year Honors students and much more.

“I am thrilled to be joining the CCACSA staff, which is filled with passionate, driven team members who support one another and work tirelessly to ensure the success of LSU’s student-athletes,” said Walke. “I am grateful for the opportunity to empower our students and assist in the development of skills in the classroom and beyond”
