Baton Rouge, La. Kathleen Gallagher, Kendall Griffin, and Alden Wallace were named Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholars on Monday afternoon (July 8).

A total of 1,097 women across the country were honored with this academic recognition. The criteria for the award, which are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics, mandated that golfers have at least a GPA of 3.50 and play in more than 60 percent of their teams tournaments during the 2018-19 season.

Gallagher, Griffin and Wallace represented LSU at every tournament during the 2018-19 season with Gallagher leading the way in scoring of the three with a 75.28 stroke average. Griffin and Wallace checked in with scoring averages of 75.59 and 76.28 respectively for the season. All three had a top-10 finish on the season as well – Griffin finished third at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic in March with a three-round total of 6-over 222, Wallace placed tied for fourth at the weather-shortened Mason Rudolph Championship in September with a tally of 5-under 139, and Gallagher tied for eighth at the weather-shortened Clemson Invitational (4-under 140).
