Cabo San Lucas, Mexico – Luis Gagne carded a bogey-free 2-under 69 on day one of the Querencia Cabo Collegiate to position himself in a tie for eighth after 18 holes of play. As a team, 12th-ranked LSU shot a 5-over par 289 to sit in seventh place. No. 9 Arizona State is the clubhouse leader at 15-under par 269.

Gagne registered the first bogey-free scorecard in his 13th round of his senior season. Gagne navigated the Querencia GC to the tune of two birdies and 16 pars for his 2-under 69. His 16 pars are the most in the field by two.

Nathan Jeansonne is in a tie for 21st after he shot an even par 71 that included three birdies, 12 pars and three bogeys. Jeansonne, who started on hole No. 14, birdied his final two holes of his round to get his scorecard back to even par.

Garrett Barber (+3/T40), Philip Barbaree (+4/T44) and Michael Sanders (+5/T51) rounded out the scoring efforts for the Tigers on day one. The Tigers will tee off from holes five through nine tomorrow alongside Vanderbilt, Arizona and Houston at 10 a.m. CT. Gagne will start on hole five, Jeansonne on six, Barber on seven, Barbaree on eight and Sanders on nine.
