Bannister Named AVCA All-South Region

BATON ROUGE – LSU volleyball's right side hitter Taylor Bannister notched AVCA All-South Region honors Tuesday afternoon, the AVCA announced.
This is Bannister's second-straight all-region honor, earning all-region last season along with Freshman of the Year. She is just the second player in the history of the program to earn back-to-back all-region honors.
The Missouri City, Texas native has recorded six 20-plus kill matches this season, including a 36-kill match against SMU, the second-most kills in a five-set match. She led the team in kills per set 4.04. In SEC matches only, she ranks seventh among the league in points per set at 4.16 and sixth at 3.73 kills per set.
In SEC action, Bannister is hitting .211 and tallied 272 kills. On the year, she is hitting .217 with a total of 456 kills. She also has a total of 57 blocks for the year. She led the Tigers in 25 of the 29 matches in kills and recorded 26 matches in double-digit kills.
The Tigers finished tied for seventh in the SEC with Alabama with a 7-11 record in the league. Overall, the Tigers finished 12-17.
