“We tried to challenge our team in the early portion of our schedule, and I think we’ve had one of the more difficult non-conference slates in the nation. We’ve found out an awful lot about our team, because sometimes the adversity tells you things that you need to know before SEC play begins. South Alabama represents the final non-conference game before we open the SEC season, and they’re as good as anybody. South Alabama has a rich tradition and history, and (South Alabama coach) Mark Calvi is doing a great job with their program. They’re going to be fired up and ready for us, and we’ll have to do the same.”
