RALEIGH, N.C. – With two weeks until postseason, the second-ranked LSU gymnastics team (13-1, 7-0 SEC) travels to take on No. 24 NC State (13-6, 6-1 EAGL) in the squad’s final road trip of the regular season at 6 p.m. CT Friday.

Last Time Out
The LSU gymnastics team put on a show Sunday afternoon in the Maravich Center to claim back-to-back Southeastern Conference regular season titles. Senior Myia Hambrick and junior Sarah Finnegan put an exclamation point on an outstanding showing with back-to-back perfect scores on floor to push the team total to a 198.100. The Tigers’ team score of 198.100 marked the first time in school history a squad has posted back-to-back 198s at home.

Finnegan and Hambrick anchored the LSU floor lineup with the first perfect scores of their careers. It marked the first time in LSU history that perfect scores were earned in the same meet on floor. The record previously happened on vault twice and once on beam. The duo became the 17th and 18th gymnasts in school history to record perfect scores.

Sophomore Kennedi Edney put up an outstanding performance with a 39.775 in the all-around. Edney’s score is the third-highest in the nation in 2018 and tied with Finnegan for the best in the SEC. Edney, Finnegan and Hambrick are the first trio in school history to post a 39.700 or higher in a meet in the same season.
