NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 24 LSU women’s basketball team will find out its opponent today after earning a double bye in the 2018 SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament as the No. 4 seed.

The Lady Tigers will face No. 5-seeded Texas A&M on Friday, March 2, at approximately 2:30 p.m. CT at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.

LSU (19-8, 11-5 SEC) finished the regular season in a four-way tie for fourth place with Missouri, Tennessee and Texas A&M and earned the No. 4 seed with a 4-1 record against the other three teams. The Lady Tigers’ 11 SEC wins are the most by LSU in Nikki Fargas’ tenure. This is the third time in Fargas’ tenure at LSU that the team is the No. 4 seed (2012, 2015, 2018).

The last time LSU was the No. 4 seed was 2015 and they advanced to the semifinals against No. 1 seed South Carolina. LSU has won the tournament title twice, in 1991 and 2003.

LSU is 6-4 overall when the tournament is held in Nashville. 2012 was the last time the SEC postseason extravaganza was held in the Music City and LSU advanced to the championship game against No. 2 seed Tennessee.

LSU’s game on Friday will be broadcast on the SEC Network with Courtney Lyles and Tamika Catchings calling the action. Patrick Wright will be on the mic for the LSU Sports Radio Network. Links to audio, video and live stats are available at
