Key Notes

Mikiah Brisco took the nation by storm last week as she posted an NCAA second-best, all-time mark in the 60 meter dash in Albuquerque, New Mexico with a time of 7.08 at altitude. It is also the fastest 60 meter time in the nation this season and set an LSU record in the event. Brisco was named the SEC Women’s Runner of the Week and advanced to The Bowerman Mid-Indoor Watch List earlier in the week.

The Lady Tigers currently hold the top three times in the nation in the 60 meters. Aleia Hobbs is second with a personal-best of 7.14, followed by Kortnei Johnson in third with a personal record of 7.18.

Brittley Humphrey took second in the women’s 60 meter hurdles at New Mexico with a time of 8.14 at altitude.

Last week’s Bayou Bengal Invitational also garnered some personal- and season-best performances for LSU.

Rookie Abby O’Donoghue posted a personal-best in the women’s high jump with a leap of 5’ 11.25” (1.81m). The mark tied for sixth all-time at LSU and earned her the win in the event. O’Donoghue is just a half inch away from her mother Kelli Flynn’s fifth-ranked jump of 5’ 11.50”.

Several competitors made their season debuts at the Bayou Bengal. Rayvon Grey and JuVaughn Blake finished 1-2 among collegiate jumpers with distances of 24’ 11.25” (7.60m) and 24’ 8.50” (7.53m), respectively. For Blake, it was his first collegiate competition in the event after high jumping each of the past three weekends.

Christian Miller won the men’s triple jump in his season debut with a leap of 53’ 3.50” (15.63m).

Alicia Stamey won the women’s mile with a converted time of 5:07.79 in her season debut in the event, followed by Rebecca Little in third place and Amber Desselle in seventh, both making their mile season debuts.

Ashley Welborn set a personal-best with her second-place finish in the women’s 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:12.66.
