This will be the 10th meeting between LSU and Texas Tech (3-2). LSU has the series lead, 8-1 with the last meeting occurring on Nov. 13, 2005, a 76-68 victory. The teams have two common opponents this season in Texas and Texas A&M. LSU lost to the nationally-ranked Longhorns, 75-66, last week in Las Vegas, while the Lady Raiders lost to the Aggies on Sunday, 90-56.

Senior Raigyne Louis is averaging 18.0 points per game to lead LSU. She recorded her 22nd consecutive double-digit scoring performance on Nov. 25 against Saint Louis with 23 points in the 71-59 win. It was also the second game in a row that Louis and junior Chloe Jackson scored 20 or more points in a game. Against nationally-ranked Texas on Nov. 24, Jackson scored a team-high 23 points, while Louis scored 20. Jackson also scored 23 points against Saint Louis on Saturday.

Louis is getting close to another LSU milestone. She needs four assists to become the fifth Lady Tiger with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 200 steals and 275 assists in a career. The preseason All-SEC Coaches selection goes into the Texas Tech game with 1,323 points, 595 rebounds, 242 steals and 271 assists.

The freshmen class is making the most of their opportunities early on with this young team. Three true freshmen have made at least one start so far this season. Khayla Pointer and Raven Farley have started the last three LSU games, beginning with Nicholls on Nov. 21. Jailin Cherry made her first collegiate start in a Lady Tiger uniform on Nov. 10 against No. 23/22 USF. Redshirt freshman Faustine Aifuwa has made two starts, against Southeastern Louisiana and Northern Colorado. Aifuwa leads the team in field goal shooting at 63.0 percent.
