Women's Golf Moves To Sixth Place At Landfall Tradition

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The LSU women’ golf team shot even in the second round of the 2017 Landfall Tradition at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, North Carolina on Saturday. The Lady Tigers moved up into a tie for sixth place at 6-over 582 with No. 8 Furman. LSU posted the fourth-best team score of the round.

LSU is sitting right behind five teams ranked in the Top-16 in Golfweek’s NCAA Division I Top-25 national poll this week. The tournament leader is No. 4 Duke with a 14-under 562, followed closely by No. 2 Alabama at 13-under 563.

The seniors led the team in today’s round with a pair of 2-under 70 scores. Claudia De Antonio moved into an overall tie for 15th-place with an even 144, while Sydney Cavin dropped her tournament score to 1-over 145 and tied for 18th-place. DeAntonio tied her single-round career low with the score.

Freshman Kendall Griffin shot a 1-over 73 to contribute to the team score on Day Two along with junior Kathleen Gallagher’s 3-over 75. Griffin also tied her career-low single round score.

Competition wraps up on Sunday with an anticipated 8:45 a.m. ET shotgun start. Inclement weather is expected which may cause a delay. Check out GolfStat.com for live scoring and weather notifications.
