Coach Will Wade, Tigers Head To SEC Tipoff in Nashville

BATON ROUGE – Coach Will Wade and two veteran members of his LSU basketball team will make the trip to Nashville on Wednesday for Southeastern Conference Basketball Media Day.
The event will be televised by the SEC Network starting at 9 a.m. CT and continuing through the Paul Finebaum Show beginning at 2 p.m. with coverage continuing until 6 p.m. This is the second consecutive year the SEC Network will have a full set on site at SEC Basketball Media Days. This year’s set will be at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, adjacent to the Omni Nashville Hotel, where the rest of SEC Basketball Media Days will take place.
LSU will be in the third of four rotations of the men’s event between 2 and 4 p.m. CT along with Alabama, Kentucky and Texas A&M. The LSU women's team will be in Nashville on Thursday as part of the women's portion of the two-day event.
The pre-season vote of a media panel made up of beat writers from all 14 schools will be announced Wednesday morning along with the pre-season All-SEC team.
Joining Coach Wade in the interview areas will be senior forward Duop Reath and junior guard Brandon Sampson. Reath is the overall leading returning scorer on this year’s Tiger team at 12.0 points per game with a 6.2 rebounding average. Sampson is the leading returning scorer from the 18-regular season SEC games a year ago at 12.1 points. Reath averaged 10.5 in his first trip around the league.
The men’s basketball season begins for LSU on Friday, Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. on the eve of the LSU-Arkansas football game. LSU will meet Alcorn State and single game tickets for the opening contest start at just $1.
