OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – USA Softball released its list of 56 national team selection camp invitees Wednesday and three LSU Tigers are on the prestigious list. Former Tigers Bianka Bell, Sahvanna Jaquish and Bailey Landry will have an opportunity to earn a spot on the 2018 Team USA Roster.
The selection camp will be held January 1-5, 2018 in Clearwater, Fla. Among next summer's events, Team USA will compete in the World Cup of Softball XIII and will look to defend its title in the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women's World Championship.
A total of 61 athletes were invited with 56 accepting the invitation. Those athletes who accepted will vie for a spot on the 2018 USA Softball Women’s National Team roster. During the selection process, athletes will participate in position drills as well as simulated games and be evaluated by the USA Softball Women’s National Team Selection Committee.
These three Tigers earned a collection eight All-American honors over a five-year span. All three were a huge impact offensively to help the Tigers to back-to-back-to-back Women’s College World Series. Landry is the Tigers all-time career hits leader while Bell owns the all-time home record and Jaquish owns the all-time career RBI mark.
