Women's Tennis Journeys to Baylor for H-E-B Invite

WACO, Texas -- The LSU women’s tennis team will compete in the H-E-B Invitational hosted by Baylor University beginning at 10:30 a.m. CT Friday at the Hurd Tennis Center.
Senior Ryann Foster, fresh off her Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American campaign in California, junior Jessica Golovin and freshmen Elyse Lavender and Eden Richardson will represent the Tigers in Waco. The group will compete against players from seven other programs, including TCU, Mississippi State and Kentucky.
All four Tigers will automatically advance to the singles round of 32 via first-round byes, with Foster ranked as the number-one seed in the tournament and Richardson and Lavender earning third- and fourth-seed rankings, respectively.
In doubles, Foster will team up with Lavender as the number-one seed while Golovin and Richardson will pair up to form the second-seeded tandem in the tournament.
Friday’s competition will begin with the first round of singles play at 9 a.m. followed by a tentative schedule of first-round doubles beginning at 10:30 a.m., second-round singles beginning at noon and second-round doubles beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Live video will be available for the six grandstand courts at www.baylorbears.com on all three days of competition, and live stats will be available on Sunday.
