BATON ROUGE – Three-year LSU basketball letterman Elbert Robinson III will step away from the LSU team, but will remain in school at LSU, LSU head men's basketball coach Will Wade announced on Monday.

Robinson, who is on pace to graduate in 2018, will step away from active competition because of medical reasons.

“I have really enjoyed getting to know Elbert and he has worked extremely hard in our offseason program since our arrival,” said Coach Wade. “The LSU Athletics Department and our basketball program will continue to support Elbert and to make sure that we help him reach his ultimate goal of graduating next year with a degree from LSU.”
