Volleyball's Bannister Earns Pair of Honors

BATON ROUGE – LSU volleyball signee Taylor Bannister, a 6-foot-6-inch middle blocker/right-outside hitter out of Missouri City, Texas and Texas Premier Volleyball Club, has been named a Senior Ace by PrepVolleyball.com and a Fab 50 recruit by VolleyballMag.com.
Bannister was ranked as the No. 13 Senior Ace out of 250 volleyball recruits recognized by the site for the Class of 2017. The two-sport athlete for Fort Bend Christian Academy is the daughter of Ken and Pennie Bannister, a pair of former professional basketball players.
Over the course of her career, Bannister has earned 5A first-team All-State honors and was named the district MVP in 2015 and 2016. Bannister, an Under Armour Second team All-American, led FBCU to three-straight district championships as well as four-straight appearances in the state tournament.
Bannister joins fellow newcomers Nicole Decker and Raigen Cianciulli on a team, which features a wealth of experience with 14 letter winners on the 2017 squad.
