Women's Hoops Ballard Suspended Indefinitely

BATON ROUGE – LSU women’s basketball coach Nikki Caldwell announced Wednesday that Danielle Ballard has been suspended indefinitely from game competition.

“As a coach, there are times where we encounter disciplinary situations concerning our student-athletes,” Caldwell said. “Danielle has unfortunately been suspended for a violation of team rules.”

During her suspension, Ballard will be permitted to practice with the team. Due to the student privacy policy, LSU will have no further comment on this matter at this time.

The Lady Tigers will host a pair of exhibition games against Loyola at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5 and Mississippi College at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 9. Following its exhibition contest on Nov. 9, LSU with Club South Runners will hold a 5K Banana Relay/Walk. Registration information is available at http://lsul.su/1o3H6aX.

LSU has secured three consecutive 20-plus win seasons and three straight NCAA Tournament appearances highlighted by back-to-back NCAA Sweet 16 trips under Caldwell.
