BATON ROUGE -- Consecutive SEC victories helped the LSU football team return to the national rankings on Sunday, as the Tigers were ranked No. 23 in the Amway Coaches Poll at No. 24 in the AP Top 25 released Sunday morning.

LSU (6-2, 2-2 SEC), with losses to No. 1 Mississippi State and No. 5 Auburn on its resume, went into The Swamp in Gainesville eight days ago and came away with a 30-27 win before dismantling the most successful Kentucky team to enter Tiger Stadium in history, 41-3, last night.

The Tigers spent two weeks just outside the coaches' and writers' polls.

No. 3 Ole Miss (7-0, 4-0 SEC) brings its highest-rated squad to Baton Rouge since 1963 when the third-ranked Rebels were 4-0-1 for a Nov. 2 matchup.
