Soccer to be Featured on SEC Network Throughout '14

BATON ROUGE – As fans across the country await the SEC Network to launch for the first time at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday evening, they are reminded that the LSU Soccer program will be featured on the SEC Network and SEC Network+ throughout the 2014 season with 10 of the Tigers’ 11 conference matches featuring live coverage this fall.

As previously announced in May, LSU’s home matches against Arkansas on Sunday, Sept. 28, at 3 p.m. and Alabama on Thursday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m. will air live on the SEC Network, while the Tigers will travel to Athens, Georgia, on Sunday, Oct. 19, for a match that will kick off at 2 p.m. as the featured broadcast on ESPNU.

In addition, seven other SEC matches will feature on the digital platform SEC Network+ as fans can watch the Tigers in action on and using the Watch ESPN app on their smartphones and tablets.

Matches at the LSU Soccer Stadium that will appear on the SEC Network+ include LSU’s SEC home opener against Texas A&M on Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. CT, as well as matches against Kentucky on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m., Florida on Oct. 26 at 1 p.m. and Auburn in their regular-season finale on Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.

Three of LSU’s matches away from home will also feature on the SEC Network+ as they open league play at Missouri on Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m. followed by matches at South Carolina on Oct. 5 at noon and Tennessee on Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. that will also air on the online digital platform. Their match at Mississippi State on Oct. 3  is the only SEC contest in which the Tigers will not feature on ESPNU, SEC Network or SEC Network+.

The start of the 2014 collegiate season is just eight days away as the Tigers open the campaign with a home match against the Troy Trojans on Friday, Aug. 22, with kickoff set for 7 p.m. at the LSU Soccer Stadium. LSU is set to open the season with a  four-game homestand as fans are invited to “Geaux Free!” to each and every home match day as admission to the LSU Soccer Stadium is free throughout the 2014 season.
