BATON ROUGE – The LSU men's basketball team will appear twice including once at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on ESPN’s prime time Super Tuesday basketball package as announced by the network on Wednesday.
LSU’s home game on Feb. 10, 2015, will mark the second time in as many years that the Tigers have hosted the Kentucky Wildcats on Super Tuesday. Last year’s game became known for being played in the “Ice Dome” after ESPN commentator Brad Nessler renamed the Maravich Center as the game was played while most of Baton Rouge area was shut down by an ice/sleet/snow storm in the hours prior to tipoff. Some 3,600 students joined a large number of brave ticket holders to fill the seats of the Maravich Center and helped the Tigers to an 87-82 win over Wildcats.
The only meeting in the 2014-15 regular season between the LSU and Kentucky will tip at 6 p.m. CT.
LSU’s other appearance on the Super Tuesday package will be on the road in Gainesville on Jan. 20 as LSU and the Florida Gators meet for the first of two times during the season in a game also scheduled for a 6 p.m. CT from the O’Connell Center. LSU lost at Gainesville last year in the only meeting with Florida, 79-61.
