BATON ROUGE – After being selected as a preseason First-Team All-SEC selection by College Sports Madness last week, LSU striker Summer Clarke has also been named as a preseason All-American by the online publication as a fourth-team selection as College Sports Madness published its list of the nation’s best players on Saturday.

Clarke looks to build on an outstanding rookie season with the Tigers a year ago when she earned Freshman All-America honors following the 2013 campaign as a member of the Soccer America All-Freshman Second Team and TopDrawerSoccer.com Freshman Best XI Second Team for her performance.

A native of Richmond Hill, British Columbia, Canada, Clarke returns to the squad as LSU’s leading goal scorer a year ago when she scored 10 goals to top the scoring charts for the team in 2013.

Clarke is already among an SEC-leading five selections for the Tigers on the College Sports Madness Preseason All-SEC Teams released last week as a projected First-Team All-SEC performer in 2014. Joining Clarke were striker Fernanda Pina and midfielders Alex Arlitt and Emma Fletcher as Second-Team All-SEC selections and rookie striker Jorian Baucom as the SEC Freshman of the Year in the preseason.

LSU Soccer’s five selections to the College Sports Madness Preseason All-SEC Women’s Soccer Teams matched the league-leading five selections by defending SEC Co-Champion Texas A&M. Fellow SEC Co-Champions Florida featured three selections with Kentucky and South Carolina. Arkansas received two selections, while Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Missouri, Tennessee and Vanderbilt receive one selection apiece.
